First, a couple of links

I did an article for OhmyNews about 'Google and the Echo Bubble'
This was a few weeks ago, about the time Google raised a lot of money for no apparent reason.
I mentioned Apple as an interesting chart.

Web 2.0 was an inspiring event but I was disturbed by a Tim O'Reilley article that seemed to me to suggest he thought the cybercrash was over. Definitely a sign of an echo bubble in my opinion. I borrowed a couple of photos for a page on the cybercrash website.

Please don't get me wrong. The Web 2.0 agenda is fantastic and the encouraging thing is that most of it could happen anyway, whatever happens to share prices in the meantime.

Back to Apple (AAPL) where the results were good but failed to meet expectations. Have a look at the charts on Bigcharts both for all data and five years. The five years view is short enough for the recent fall to show up. The all data view shows that this is some echo bubble in the case of Apple.

Meanwhile here in the UK, investment interest in the internet revolves around poker. The FT now has a dedicated site - www.ft.com/poker . At least in the US there may be some speculation but there is still an interest in technology.
